Microcurrent therapy

Microcurrent therapy is a device treatment in which the face is worked with very weak, physiological current impulses. They are often called facial exercise without effort - the impulses gently stimulate the facial muscles and the activity of the skin cells.

The treatment is so gentle that the current is barely felt - only a slight tingling or a metallic taste with certain techniques.

I work with the Futura Pro device. I carry out the microcurrent treatment manually, with handheld electrodes, so each area of the face can be worked separately and adapted to what it needs.

What the treatment does

  • tones the facial muscles
  • encourages lymph drainage and reduces puffiness
  • supports the renewal of collagen and elastin fibres
  • improves skin colour, tone and circulation
  • activates the metabolism of the skin cells
  • helps maintain a clearer line along the jaw

Who it suits

  • if the contour of your face is starting to lose definition
  • if your face tends to be puffy in the mornings
  • if you want a gentle treatment with a cumulative effect as a course

How the treatment works

After cleansing I apply conductive gel and work with two electrodes along the lines of the facial muscles - slowly, rhythmically, area by area.

The treatment is quiet and relaxing. Microcurrent has a cumulative character, so the best result builds over a course of regular visits - for an optimal result the course is 10 sessions.

Contraindications

  • a pacemaker or other implanted electrical devices
  • epilepsy
  • pregnancy
  • oncological conditions
  • metal implants or threads in the face
  • acute skin inflammation on the face

Dental implants are usually not an obstacle, but do mention them when you book and I will adjust the working areas.

Frequently asked questions

Can the current be felt?
Almost not at all. Microcurrents are close to the body own impulses - most clients feel only a slight tingling, or nothing.
How many treatments make a course?
For an optimal result the microcurrent course is 10 sessions. The effect is cumulative, so a course is usually followed by less frequent maintenance visits - we will discuss the rhythm once we see how your skin responds.
How does microcurrent differ from RF lifting?
Microcurrent works with the muscles and with cell stimulation, RF works by heating tissue in the deeper layers. They are different approaches, and they are also combined at different stages of a course.
